hustle porn seems like a distinctly american genre, not just because it values work above all else, and not just because it only serves the social clout of showmen, but because it teaches us that great american moral i've personally internalized for too long—not to set boundaries

A few thoughts on the “nomad” working lifestyle. Right off the bat, it sucks. You don’t have your usual setup, your large monitor, your perfect ergonomic chair etc with you. This makes staying productive really hard. There are some portable solutions but they’re not the same. 1/

I was enamored by the glamor of it all & had wanted to try it for a while. Now I know it isn’t really all that. I’d rather travel FR instead of trying to travel while working. I thought I’d be gone for 8 weeks. I’m currently at the 3.5 week mark. Ready to be back home in SF ๐ 5/
— Apoorva Govind (@Appyg99) July 5, 2022
If your idea of nomadic lifestyle is working from a single city for 6-8 weeks at a time, it’s probably ok. If you’re moving places any more frequently than that, you’re wasting your time and kidding yourself. Just find an agreeable city and settle down.
