This is bigger than Google Plus, a service I am not in yet. A friend sent an invite today but Google says they are so full of it. They did not let me in.
No doubt this move is a Facebook, Microsoft counter to Google Plus, especially to the Hangout feature that seems to be showing a lot of promise.

Google can be anal about releases. The slow release thing worked for Gmail. But it is not working for Google Plus. I doubt they fear there will be so much demand their servers might melt. So why the delay? A slow release in this day and age is plain bad marketing.
TechCrunch: Facebook Launches Skype-Powered Video Calling: a feature that’s been rumored for quite a while, and it’s one that Facebook is putting a lot of weight behind"Now, whenever you browse to a friend’s profile, you’ll see a new button nestled between the ‘Message’ and ‘Poke’ buttons that says ‘Call’."
I don't see it. I feel targeted.
